struggling with central locking on yeti greenline

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I've only recently taken delivery of a Skoda Yeti Greenline II and am generally very happy with it. But I'm struggling with the door lock settings. I have used both the key fob and inserted the key in the driver's door. The outcome is that only the driver's door can be opened from the outside. All the doors can be opened from inside the vehicle and there's no problem with accessing the boot or fuel cap. I couldn't see any existing topics which addressed this. Nor could I see a solution in the manual (apart from references to an information display that I don't have!)

Any help gratefully received.

Is your car an SE?

If you have the Maxi-dot you can alter the door locking there, if however, its an 'S' then your dealer will be able to make an alteration for you - and welcome, BTW!

Hi and welcome,

what trim level GreenLine do you have; S, SE or Elegance :wonder:

You probably have the locking system set to double door locking where you need to press the key fob door button twice :wonder:

First click drivers door, second click the rest of the doors :wonder:

Oh and please note each of the two keys that come with the car have there own settings.

Hope that helps,

TP

If you do have the maxidot set to unlock only the drivers door then as TP says it can be changed easily on SE trim level and above.

I have found that you have to press the key once then make the second press just after the alarm bleeps, otherwise the other doors remain locked.

Before we go any further, can you explain that bit in red above?

If you press the unlock button on the fob you shouldn't need to use the key at all.

If you got this from new the dealer would of told you about the way the key works.

Or if you did not its in the manual and works the same as all modern day cars with remote central locking as it was a solution to car jacking fears when on one blip it unlocks the drivers door and on two blips it unlocks all the doors

And this can be changed so that all the doors open at the first press if you wish. I'm not sure what owner configuration options a Greenline owner has, but in most models you can easily change this in Maxidot. If you really do want to change it to "all doors" opening, and can't decipher how to do it from the manual, your friendly dealer should be able to help in a jiffy!

I can confirm that in a Greenline Elegancy Demo i had you can change the behaviour in the maxi-dot. I know cause i played with ALL the settings :giggle:

I like the sound of an Elegancy model.

it makes my Elegance sound boring....emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Ah! You fixed your signature but not the little bit to the left! That still says Regency, oops I mean Elegancy. :giggle:

  • 2 years later...

Just wanted to say that two years on, this is still useful information.

I've just progressed from a beautiful old Land Rover Defender 90 TD5 (am still a bit heartbroken at parting with it, to be honest) to my first ever brand new car, a Yeti SE II Greenline, and the intricacies of central locking are all a bit of a mystery to me - obviously I had nothing as fancy as electric windows even on the Landie.

Whilst I am extremely happy with the Yeti, I faced exactly the problem originally described here by "posh", i.e. only the drivers' door was opening. And then I found this topic and lo and behold, there's the answer!

Thanks everyone. Keep up the great work. I have a feeling I'll be a fairly regular visitor to these parts for quite a while now....
