hybrid turbo

Featured Replies

Well guys just bought my first Fabia vRS and the guy I bought it off said it had a hybrid turbo and a remap on it which I take with a pinch of salt. Now I didnt buy it for the hybrid I just bought it as a cool comfy daily but it is a very quick car so im just wondering did he get one.

How do I go about checking if the turbo on it is a hybrid?

Thanks in advance

If its a hybrid you'll know

It should roar its head of on boost.... Theres no missing it

probs by it going like stink, i think that should be a good indication. On a serious note though, take it to a reputable mapper/garage and let them look at the map on it and what its running :)

Shark FTW ;)

Didn't they provide any receipts for the work?

Bascially rule of thumb will be

Standard - 135bhp roughly

Stock but remapped - 170bhp roughly

Say a PD150 turbo and remapped, perhaps 190bhp

Hybrid turbo & mapping - say 210bhp

Any other modifications? I would hope with a hybrid turbo it has a front mounted intercooler as it would be a bit of a waste.

Stick it on the rollers if it were me.

have a look on the pressed plate on the turbo, My hybrid turbo was carrying a TT plate.
