Things that stealers can do.

Featured Replies

Hi i am about to pick up my new Fabia in the next week or so and I was just wondering if the stealer will be able to activate teardrop wipe, one press of the key to unlock all doors, and auto looking? Thanks.

They can activate all of theses sorts of things for you via vagcom just depends how much they want to charge you.

Would the stealers do that on a brand new car!

For cash monies they will!

When I took mine back into the dealer to resolve the creaks and rattles, I asked if they would activate a few similar VAGCOM options, they did for free

Thanks, I will have a chat to the stealer. Now when I ask for teardrop wipe will they know what i mean or just look at me if I have 3 heads!

I give my stealers and list before i collected the car when new and all was done free of charge :)

Thanks robkirby, may I ask what you had done?

Yep, this is the list i gave them.

Staging (needle sweep when the ignition is turned on)

Anti hijack (doors lock automatically when a certain speed is reached (IIRC it's about 20MPH)

Alarm beeps

Large digital MPH display

Seatbelt warning deactivated

Selective / all doors unlocking when you take your key out of the ignition

They did all apart from Large Digital MPH Display and Seatbelt warning

I would be outraged if they tried to charge me for any of the above on new car. I phoned up about the auto locking, (I was told it would be set when picked up but I t wasnt, (I was too giddy so I didnt notice till a few days later...) they said just pop in and they will activate it, no worries.

I'd tell them where to go if they wanted to charge me for a brand new car then look for someone local with VCDS to do it for me.

Pretty sure most dealers would do this FOC on a brand new car and probably any car (second hand) you buy from them.

You just have to be careful how you word it to them I think.

What are the full range of options you can set?

Does anyone know where you could find a list?

I didn't pay a penny btw guys

There is a list somewhere on the forums, if you cant find it search in "gooooogle" for VCD list for polo's

does it have to be a skoda dealer? my dad works for a VW dealer and i was wondering if they would be able to do it

Normally we wouldn't charge if those are added to a PDI on a new car, in fact the salesman should ask you what options you would like activated.

And we don't use VAG COM or VCDS, that's not dealer equipment.

What would you use, then? Prey tell us mere mortals!

If you call them 'stealers' they'll do bugger all for you...LOL
