My Yeti VIN Code

Featured Replies

Hello friends,

My new Yeti landed yesterday in Israel, and today they called and gave me the chassis number of the vehicle, including engine code.

To my knowledge, the VIN code number should include 17 digits - I got 11 characters, and I'd love if you can try and help me figure out what vehicle production date, etc. - if possible.

Chassis number - 5L2C6039506

Engine code - CBZ5716

For engine code, it said ex Favia CBZB, is there a difference between these codes?

Thanks in advance,

Orel J

Hi,

theres a guide to the VIN here

My link

Oh the engine code CBZ is the basic engine type and used for all engine serial no.s. The last letter denotes the version - A = 86, B = 105.

There are a few digits missing off the front of it, to do with intended country of use etc.

Only your dealer could give you that level of detail, however you can get close by looking for build dates on components.

Look out for for example 10/11 = week 10 in 2011

Or full dates for example 28.03.11

Can be found stamped on panels, printed on components and hoses etc.
