Door card problem.. Anyone else?

Featured Replies

Hello guys.. I seem to have a problem with my drivers side door card. It's as though it's started to come away and formed a bubble.

Here is a pic

Has anyone else had this problem before?

Thanks

Fairly common sight on cars where drivers rest their elbow on that part of the door, normally ex-taxi's or high mileage motorway cruisers. The foam underneath has cracked or broken and the vinyl is now coming off of the foam.

You need to replace the doorcard to fix it.

Ahh it has done alot of motorway milleage (previous owner) was ok at first but slowly started raising.. I've tried & tried to get 1 off eBay but not had any luck

They are like hens teeth - you need to get one out of a breakers quick before they get wet as well.

Mine's the same and yes mine is high mileage 151000.

I've not had a problem finding them as such.. Ive found a few cars breaking on eBay over time but they won't split the interior they wanna sell everything together.

I bought my car with an apparently genuine 30k on the clock and the door card had already bubbled worse than that!

Mine has a big dent where the bubble is, but it apparently only has 60k (I hope) Although, having read all the reports of where I bought my car from, I wouldn't be surprised if it has been clocked as well

I bought mine with 78k so it's understandable mine would do it.. Think majority is motorway mileage too

Mine's got 58K on & is just starting - it recovers slowly. I keep catching myself with my elbow on it & am trying to get out of the habit.

Seen a much newer FL Octavia taxi that was wrecked - it was his that made me look at mine.
