bleeding coolant system

Featured Replies

can any one tell me the best way to bleed the coolant system on a 1.9tdi.Really struggling to get rid of air in the system.

Thanks

Wayne

Shouldnt need bleeding, the air return is the highest point in the system.

I normally just refill the system and run up with the cap off.

Tried what you have sugestedearlier today but still must have air or air lock in system as no water in heater matrix.

You sure its not blocked?

Why was it drained?

Why was it drained?

Yes not blocked i have run water through.I drained it due to loss of heat from blowers after having a new heater matrix fitted 3 weeks ago.i took it to VW yesterday and they said it was pmore than likely the water pump but i have had no overheating so some one said it is probably an air lock so i drained it earlier on today.

Why was the matrix changed if you dont mind me asking?

Id back fill the matrix then if your sure its getting air in it. if you take a pipe off going to it does water come out? Are the heater matrix pipes staying cold?

Hii had no heat so garage said i needed new heater matrix so had it replaced.heat then came through for a few days then started getting less and less.If i take the pipes off there is no water coming out but the right hand pipe as you look at the pipes gets very hot and the left hand only slightly.

It is completely beyond my understanding why you seem so reluctant to take it back to the garage and get them to put it right? It would have been my first, second and third step until it WAS right. Mystified!
