My WHITE map vent for pikey mod 2 arrived today

Featured Replies

Ahem

One more coat and it should be fine :D Hopefully installing this weekend weather permitting. Gives the oil cooler a bit more through-flow of air.

Nice. Wall vent 9x6 by any chance?

Where by you gonna fit it?

It is a 9*6 yes. Going to go into the wheel arch liner on the drivers side, low down so air coming in the vented front bumper part can come right out again. :)

Why not use a Dremel to cut slots in the arch liner? I have(pics in my members car thread) and doesn't look pikey!

Because crap can get through slots and get into the oil cooler. I'll be cutting out the square needed using a dremel type tool I have, and then self tap using the holes already in the vent frame, into the arch liner. Probably sealing it with super glue but not decided if necessary yet.

I did pikey mod on an arch liner about 6 years ago when I still had SMIC but I've since got rid once I went FMIC. Now the oil cooler is there, time to reinstate.

Would it not just be more benificial to put the cooler in direct air flow where the big mouth cut out is and do the extra plumbing for it ?

No room there due to my FMIC and the fact the cooler is massive. :D It is perfect where the SMIC as the foglight surround down there in much better vented (than the opposite one anyway). Just needs somewhere for the air to go when it comes in, hence the pikey mod.
