Hi Folks

had the engine light come on and used a VAGCOM reader to determine the reason -- error code is

17553 P1145 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circ Short to B+

Looked through forums and think I probably need to clean or replace the MAF but cannot find any info on how to do this.

Any suggestions.

Also how much damage can I cause by still using the car - doesn't seem to affect the performance and the light clears itself after a few starts - only comes on under high revs

Shouldn't do any damage. It will just reduce how much fuel is injected.

cheers - performance seems ok so not sure whats wrong with it - will try cleaning it tonight if I can find where it is
