hey mate ive recently fitted jom coilovers onto my octy great kit for the money. this is the guide i used here. make sure you get a new set of drop links i only changed the fronts and other thing is front strut mount bearings youl need to change them while your there if the mk1 is the same as the mk2 if not im sure the link will still be usefull.

on the mk 1 mate you will need:

2x new Top mounts

2x New bearings

2x new threaded bush (saves taking the std stuff apart)

2x new strut bolts

2x new strut bolt Nuts

2x new rear shock bolts

2x new rear shock bolt Nuts

2x new rear bump stops

think thats about it. Make sure you have the tools to take the front struts off as its not a std allen key. I had to buy one to stop the piston from spinning. also make sure you have a good vice to hold the rear shock in while undoing it from the top mount.

all PN are in the sticky mate.

Don't forget coil spring compressor too

If you get a new pair of threaded bushes you dont need spring compressors lol, so long as the bushes are not totally buggered its fine, mine held together for 1-2 years like that ready to just pop back on the car, Dave had them and poped them on his car to replace his high miler old stuff lol. sorted his rattles ne way lol.

for the price of the threaded bushes I just got new ones for each set of coilovers lol, 3 in total and the original set of shocks.
