Fabia speedometer oscillating

Featured Replies

Hi all , i have a skoda fabia petrol 1.4 2001 model. I have an issue with its speedometer. The speedometer oscillates when the car is started and when its at move. say if i am doing at 40 mph, it oscilates between zero to 60 or 80. Driving me really mad and can not get the right speed of the car. It started being very random, but now it happens all the time.

Do you know what can be the cause , and can i mend it at home? would it be a sensor and/or cable..? Hope someone can help...

thanks a lot

cheers

Dan

In the first instance I'd suggest checking all the connections - in ten years one might have corroded or dirtied. Not an easy task though.

In the absence of other suggestions - good luck - at least you'll learn what's what.
