First Vrs and a few niggles

Featured Replies

Actually first Skoda. Had a 1.8 passat for 2 years and wonted something with a lot more aggression. So the octy it was and I absolutely love it, even more than the likes of my folks 11 plate Astra sport. Anyway couple of bit wrong with the car over the last week sins I got it.

1. The rear pas door won't unlock nothing happens the pin never moves ever

2. The drivers door always unlocks first time every time the other two not so, got to lock/unlock 2/3/4 times to get them open.

3. Need a new grill. Are the Vrs ones differante from standard cars or is it just the badge.

4. And I'm after the clicky handle bit that keeps the armrest lid shut.

Any help with any of these will be much appreciated.

P.S. where do I get my hands on some brisko stickers?

Hi and welcome to the forum, the answer to one question is that you have to press the unlock twice in a row and it will unlock all the doors then, this is a common VAG thing.

Cheers

Rear door will be the control module in the door I would have thought. Take the door card off and give it a whack. Worked for me or check the parts for sale section.

Click twice to unlock all doors (safety thing)

eBay for the armrest lock. Bout £6

Grills the same just the badge.

Join freedom for a free sticker or go on the shop to purchase.

Enjoy

I believe the unlocking all doors can be changed through the diagnostic port. Mine unlocks all the doors and the boot when pressing the unlock button once.

That is the same behaviour for my 2001 Elegance. I have a normal (non-flippy) key if that makes any difference.

All doors and the boot should unlock when you press unlock on the key. As the rear passenger side door isn't unlocking I would say the microswitch in that door is bust and is causing the whole central locking system to mess about. If you bought it with any kind of warranty I would get it all fixed on that (or try and DIY it) as the central locking can be £££s for a garage to fix

Thanks guy. It will be a diy fix as i got no warranty with the car. I was reading another thread on here about the back door and his was the solenoid. my door is showing the same symptoms as his. Just need to tackle getting the door card off with the door shut.

Hi Ross have you managed to get the door lock/unlock problem sorted? If you are still having issues then try and spray some electrical contact cleaner into the door lock mechanism as this may remidy the issues.

I have seen your VRS around then town and it looks really clean - i have a red VRS estate. Is your car standard and what miles has it done?
