Washer fluid running done rear window

Featured Replies

Hi

When I activate the washer fluid on the front windscreen then the washer fluid also starts running done rear window...

What could be the problem?

Washer pipe popped off the jet fitting.

Sorry, I probably wasn't precise enough. (or my bad English :))

The washer fluid comes cout of the jet.

Can the pump to the front windscreen washer jets somehow send pressure to the rear jet? eg if something blocks the flow in the pipes to the front jets ?

/ Jorgen

iirc, there is a single pump and then a valve which controls where the water goes (front, front + headlights, rear), so maybe that valve is a stuck / has something stuck in it.

That said, I am not sure where the valve is. My memory is that the tank has the pump attached and only a single hose leaving it (from the front).

I think you may well be on the right lines - do you have a good pressure out of your front jets, or is it rather weak - maybe indicating a slight blockage? Obviously the pressure will be down a bit as fluid it getting pushed to the rear of the vehicle...
