Mufflerectomy

Featured Replies

Morning all,

I’m thinking of giving my car a mufflerectomy, I want to use this tip:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPORT-CHROME-UNIVERSAL-DUAL-EXHAUST-TAIL-TIP-PIPE-266-/160673076935?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2568dc96c7

With some 35mm stainless steel tube that I have spare. Will the 35mm tubing be adequate or do I need something a little wider?

How wide is the standard exhaust tubing ?

Thanks in advance

Luke

35mm? I`m no expert but that sounds rather small. . . . . . . . isnt the standard pipework around 2-2.25"?

+1 Milltek is 2.5" iirc

My mufflerectomy is 2.5"

Thanks for the info, I will get some 2.5" tubing and use that

How much is it going to cost? Piper exhaust is £150ish quid and means you have an intact standard system to flog/replace when selling. Just a thought.

I'm looking around for a good price don't want to go over £60 realy. I'm keeping the standard system so I can change it back if the muflerectomy is too loud

If you go somewhere like powerflow they will do it for around £80

Thanks for that, i'll give them a call after new year

Huxley recomenened me to powerflow and they were very good they bent the pipe so it gives a smooth flow, I got the twin 2.5" tip and it sounds good, not too loud :)
