Chipping

Featured Replies

Hi

New to site, been a fan of the Vrs since last Feb 2004.Then lucky enough to have one as a company car since last summer.

I have a silver Octavia VRS with a hell of a lot of extras ;Xenon lights, parking sensors, sunroof,ESP, and best of all the Sat Nav.Without doubt the best car ive ever had!

Belive it or not a clean licence since 1977 but that surely wont last with this car( just lucky).

Met a chap today with a VRS who has had his chipped upto 260?bhp and then he was saying hes getting it done to over 300bhp so he can take it to Germany.

Is this poss ( not going to Germany!) but chipping company cars and does it effect company insurance etc.Does one have to inform the the insurance company and would you get away with it if you didnt.

Also while im on whats the legality of the format of number plates im not talking personalised but fancy perhaps?

Cheers Grisctiperry :)

Remap to 260bhp...I doubt it very much.

If he had other mods then perhaps 240bhp-ish on standard turbo....above this then upgraded turbo for sure with other bits.

With all mods it's advisible to inform your insurance company.

Oh.. welcome to the site. :D

Welcome

:D

With all mods you must inform your insurance company! If you don't, you will probably be uninsured in the event of a claim :thumbdwn:
