Near side headlight

Featured Replies

Main beam filament went on the way home this morning, so after getting up lunch time out I troop to the shed to get a new bulb, then out to the car to change it.

Undo the round cover, no problem.

Do you think I can get the damned clip off the bulb? I've tried eveything. Had a mirror to see I was pushing the right bit, had a neighbour with small hands trying to do it!! Nothing!!

Am I going to have to take the lamp out just to release the clip? I did it no problem 12 months ago when I put the bulb in!!

Blasted thing!!

Sounds tricky emoticon-0114-dull.gif

I feel for you Graham.... I felt the same on Sunday when I changed the DRL bulbs to be LED. Awful, awful, awful job!!!!! Good luck!

DONE IT!!

Needed to put a bit more pressure on the top of the wire clip, and suddenly it popped open. New bulb fitted and it all works perfectly.

Whilst I had the light open I thought I'd fit the "safe" LED sidelight bulbs I'd bought but they are too big to fit through the hole in the light body. Nor a problem; I'm sure they'll fit somewhere else.

Nice quiet night in the 'box until 0330ish, as the freights expected are stuck in Preston because of the fire in Leyland.

Hi Graham did you need to push up or down on the wire clip. I havee tried both on the clips on my Yeti and they do not seem to want to move.
