Need help with Boost! Videos inside :)

Recommended Posts

Hello again guys,

I can't figure out what is wrong with my car.

There has been something wrong since I had a remap but yesterday I took of the original recirc valve and put a Dump valve in. The car was terrible with the valve and I took it off after a 10 minute run and put the original back in.

However after that the car was doing great and the power was through all the range, but only for the next hour. After an hour it was back to the old surge.

Video 1 is when the car is running okay:

Video 2 is 1 hour after the car was running okay:

I have no idea what is wrong but I know this is called a boost/turbo surge. I have a new N75, new coilpacks and spark plugs. In order to fix this I am planning to change:

*New forge recirc valce

*forge tip

*ABD cai with K&N filter

MAF sensor?

N249?

What do you think?

Thanks,

Tom :)

Whats that funny rattle it has as you hit 1 bar? On the second video you can hear it.

yeah it goes to 1 bar and then fluctuates around that. I think the car cannot hold this boost for whatever the reason is. The car looses all the power in the second run and accelerates in twitches. In the first run where everything is ok the car is like 1.5-2times faster than in the second run.

So sad it only lasted for an hour :/

Fault code scan might be useful but I reckon if you do have any codes it will be the 17705 which doesnt help as that can be any one of about a dozen things.

You'll need to check all the small vac hoses in the N249 system, and the small N75 vac hoses for splits, test the DV for leaks and bypass or swap out the N249 valve in case that's not working.
