Thanks for all the help - Sorry haven't been on for a while, but do apperciate the help. For similar money I can get a 05 plate 320d... which tempts me also.

The problem is, the car's isn't the only thing I am bad with, currently have 2 motorbikes too. So that's why I'm trying to stop my self.

However, saying all that i do like them and lifes to short, as you say they seem very high priced used to say they were 12k or what ever new. I went to go look at a 05 plate with 70k miles at the dealer in york, it was in horrible condition. The laquer was peeling off the spoiler, the discs were pitted badly, there were some large dints, marks and scraps all over, that have horribly been touched up by a blind monkey and it wasn't cheap at £5450. I was espically annoyed when I phoned the salesman described it as immaculate.

Owell, keep looking I guess.

When I was looking for a MKI a salesman at Arnold Shark wanted me to put a deposit down to secure the car without even seeing it! Needless to say, when I went to view it, it was a right two and eight - you expect a few minor marks on a used car but this had several nasty scratches (it was black, so they were very obvious), a different make of tyre on each corner, and every alloy was very badly scuffed!

That's exactly what happened to me, he wanted to take a deposit on the phone from me, as he got me such a massive saving of £50 off. He also lied about the price it was up for (I couldn't remember the exact price while on the phone, he said it was £250 more then actual price it was up for) But yeh, when I viewed the car, it was a black one so I saw exactly the same as you. Soo frustrating from a main dealer.

My first post here, I'm a newbie!

Would you be interested in my cheap 04 plate which is on Pistonheads for £2995?

cheers!

Had a look, shame your so far away, looks nice and clean for the money. If you'd take £2500 cash I'd take it, but the mileage would cost me a decent amount in fuel sadly!

if you're only doing 10,000 miles per year you'd be far better off with a petrol car as the difference in fuel consumption isn't big enough to cover the additional running costs.

But I still wouldn't part with mine!

Merry Christmas!

Yes I always see this argument but in our case we are more than happy to pay the extra running costs (which are actually cheaper than our old car) for the extra benefits in the drivability of the car with the torque from the engine etc and also there's no way we could cope with a small petrol doing trips to Germany doing the speeds we do and get the economy we do!

Don't buy one... they're horrible. You'll hate the blast of torque at 1900rpm ;)

No problem mate, thought I would ask anyway. I am quite far away in windswept and wet ayrshire so I understand.

The car is heading for the timing belt kit change in a few thousand miles so I would be willing to let it go for not a penny less than £2500 but that might put you off it anyway.
