Fabia Roof Bars

Featured Replies

Any suggestions on which roof bars are the neatest and easiest to fit?

I the part i have always used the Thule Rapid fir system and just bought a new foot pack when I'v changed my car, but this system dosnt seem to be available on the Fabia.

I want something which looks neat and is easy and quick to fit and remove with one person, also has anyone got any pics of them fitted to a fabia?

I bought the skoda ones for 100 quid (i know its steep), but they tighten on without the need for any side fixings. Once you have adjusted them to size you can fit them yourself you just have to watch the paint

I'd go for the genuine ones myself, maybe a bit more but wont damage your car and are approved for your vehicle.

Do these Skoda genuine parts clip into a slot thats already in the roof?

I'll need to carry bikes on the roof and at the mo use the Thule system on my Punto. Its resulted in a few scratches on the roof due to being a pain in the ar5e to fit. I dont want this to happen to my new Fabia :o

Cheers

Yes, the Skoda rack's feet clip into the slots in the roof - just make sure you don't lose the little plastic covers! The Skoda rack is made by Thule, and standard Thule bits (boxes, bike racks, board holders etc) will fit it.

Does anyone have any pictures of the Skoda bars and how they fit?

Also how long does it take to fit/remove the bars?

Thats good to know then- the Puntos system wraps round the paintwork to clamp them in place, it really is a crap design.

Thanks for the info, looks like roof bars are going to be the first 'mod' then!

I had roof bars and a box on my lupo it was wicked

definatly worth buying genuine stuff all the vw stuff fitted straight on and it was great for germany and the nurbougring

:)
