How to fix remote lock Fabia 1.4 TDI 2008

Featured Replies

I am Jai from India. have a custom shop of my own. i have a issues to be solved.

1) I have a Skoda Fabia Classic 1.4 TDI 2008 model, right hand drive. The car comes with a default 4 door key lock, 4 door power window but dose not have a remote. I recently purchased a remote lock device suitable for Skodia Fabia along with a pair of new remote and blank key blades, and the I have gone through the manual and wiring diagram of the device. But my problem is from where can I find the suitable lines to connect sockets of the four door lock and power windows and boot. I have done some similar work with other Japanese and Indian cars. Need advice?

Thx

Firstly you would be better of getting a genuine remote locking system for the fabia, so the fabia you have does it have central locking.?, I thought central locking was standard on all fabias ? , if you have central locking and don't have the keys /fobs you can easily get them and re-programme them to the car ( dealer will do this 4 u ) hope this helps if not , someone will be along soon /

Hi ,

The model Skoda Fabia Classic 1.4 TDI 2008 has only the key and dose not come with the remote/fob. You have to manually open the driver side door and all the other doors open automatically. They are pre installed with a gun and all that I need to do is that find the main lock sockets and connect them to the remote device as per diagram. Where can I find those sockets.

2008 Fabia you should be able to retrofit OEM solution.

The parts you will need are:

1. Replacement central convinience unit (part #6Q0 959 433 E from a Skoda Fabia)

2. 3 button remote fob (part #1JO 959 753 DA)

3. Replacement flip key blade cut for a fob key from a photo of my existing key

4. Transponder for new key, you could re use the transponder from your original key.

There are plenty of guides on the internet for doing this on Polo 9N, its essentially the same car.

You will need access to VDCS to change soft coding on convinience unit. The remote part of the fob can be coded manually through door lock.

Probably the worst part of the job is access to convinience unit. On RHD car it is directly above the clutch pedal. Your looking for a black plastic box, dimensions 11cm x 5cm x 2.5cm.

Hope this helps.
