I have unfortunately lost a piece of my Mobile phone holder in to the central air vent within the dash board of my 06 Octavia.

Using a torch and tweezers hasn’t worked so I will need to get passed the Air Vent.

Can anybody please post a step by step procedure on how to remove the central Air Vent from the Dashboard without damaging it?

Reading through the Forum I found a comment from Tech1e – Skoda God…

Can I confirm that a cooking plastic mixing bowl spatula will be a good tool to use?

Will there be any potential issues with getting the Air Vent back in not showing that it has been taken out?

But for the Mk1 removing central vent is easy actually.

You get a small flat screwdriver and lever out the hazard switch surround, then pull out the hazard switch. This then gives you a nice recess where the switch was to get a finger in a pull the plastic central vent out. It will come out, may need some gentle persuasion. If you are nervous then you can also use a thin flat screwdriver and carefully lever out one end (corner) between the dash and plastic vent until that side pops out, then lever the opposite side.

Fitting it back in is just a simpple push fit.
