Fabia MPI Temperature Gauge

Featured Replies

Got a 2002 Fabia 1.4 MPI Estate with no working temperature gauge, always on cold and never moves a millimetre. I've changed the Thermostat Housing with Thermostat and Temperature Sensor and still no change, changed the temp sensor again in case the replacement was duff and still no change.....any idea where to look next?

There's no other real issues worth mentioning that could affect it as everything else works OK!

Any help much appreciated!

I'd be checking if the gauge works or if there any any fault codes, both can be done with VCDS.

Haven't got a VCDS but do have an ELM and EasyOBDii, take it this wouldn't be a lot of use?

Not if you want to carry out final control of the dash cluster no.

Is the engine getting warm, just the gauge not working?

Yeah, it's getting up to temperature no problem but no reading from the gauge.

Looking on here the nearest person to me on the Hex help list is Pigeon142 but he hasn't been on here since September as he's now got rid of his Skoda!

Where are you in midlands?

  • Author

Tamworth but more than willing to travel and pay someone for their time.

Now the EML light is on, will my Elm be able to scan it?

Tried scanning it today and it didn't seem to want to know, will it need a VCDS or would a normal FCR work?
