1.2 TSi DSG Limp mode

Featured Replies

Had the box in S mode and floored it to pass a dawdler. As it changed gear the dash lit up like a christmas tree and the power disappeared. Fortunately I had enough momentum to complete the overtake and then pulled in further down the road. If I pressed the throttle it would stutter as if running on maybe 2 cylinders. I shut the car down then re-started it, it was fine, no lights and perfectly as normal. I know one or two of the vRSs have had DSG limp mode moments but has anybody had an engine go into limp mode?

Thanks

Would take it in and get them to hook up the computer and see what happened. Better safe than sorry.

No limp mode on mine todate (touch wood)

Plugged it in on VCDS and it showed 3 engine faults: a misfire on cylinder 4, hopefully a spurious 1 off, a boost error that seems to have happened earlier and finally disablement of cylinder 4. A further error showed up against the ABS system on the engine control module. Three of those happened at the same time but the odd one is the boost error that I have no recollection of feeling anything and showed no lights at the time. I'm not sure I understand the date format?

Perhaps a slightly loose connection on C4's coil pack?? Could be the kickdown pulled it away slightly?

(Sorry, I'm guessing)
