Octavia 11 lowered!

Featured Replies

Having sought recommendations here, today I took the plunge. I had Bilstein B8s and H&R 35mm lowering Sport springs fitted to my 1.8tsi. I decided on H&R rather than Eibach in a quest for more firmness.

Had it done in Dublin by Keith at Alloy-Wheels.ie, who is highly recommended by many members of vagdrivers.net in Ireland. He also supplied the kit. On the 100 mile drive home it was a lot more planted, a lot less floaty, much more stable on corners, and not more crashy or jarring (well, perhaps very slightly, but worth it). The lowering seems very subtle as the car is high to start with. I am very pleased.

I would still like more direct steering, so better ARBs are probably still needed methinks (and a remap for some torque below 2500rpm) but oh how expensive it all is!!

Show us a pic then. Any reason why you didn't go for a B12 kit (B8s and Eibach springs) if you were fitting B8s?

See paragraph 1 above.

I see. So, any pic?

Have you driven on Eibach springs and was it a compromise for handling over ride quality or comfort? Just out of interest as I plan on lowering my own mk II.
