looking for some advice from anyone about what roof bars are a good purchase?

Cheers.

I have a set of thule roof bars from my octavia. Think the fitment is the same on these, ill have a check, but ill be flogging them

I've used these people before for roof bars etc. and have always been good www.roofracks.co.uk i think they have a configurator so you can find out the pieces you need and then search for best price.

i got the skoda roof bars fitted from the dealers and they left small dents in the roof, that was a one week after getting the car , skoda had to sorted , they said it was bacause of the heat wave and the car was one week old so the paint was still soft , luckily i didnt fit it

cheers for the replies guys. VRSy , I would certainly be interested in those roof bars if you ended up wanting to sell them and they fit. That roofracks.co.uk site is awesome, not sure if its offering me all the different Thule options though which seems odd.

that proper sucks the paintwork being damaged, may I ask how much the 'official' roof bars cost? Are they just underhanded Thule ones?

managed to kerb one of my alloys the other day, really annoyed with my self but fortunately the damage is tiny. am I right in saying dealers can supply touch up paint?

cheers again.

Ill try and fit them tomorrow

I don't have roof bars (or even a Fabia yet!) but if I did, I'd get some of these: http://is.gd/qamPxq

I'm a sucker for marketing spiel!

i think they cost 180 when i got them , they come with the skoda logo on the side of them ,wich is rather cool lol

£135 they are

Have used Atera roof bars on my last five cars, Jeep, Ford, VW.

They are astounding quality and they make OEM bars for many German car manufacturers including VW & Audi.

They are also designed to custom fit to the cars OEM spec so are a lot better fit than the Thule type of bars that have all the different attachments and far easier to fit. Are usually cheaper than OEM and Thule too.

Here's the fit on the Jeep (Roof Bar fitment).

And on the Passat (Gutterless)

They are very low profile and quiet (Without the bike racks on)

Cheers
