Skoda Breakdown

Featured Replies

As instructed by the dealer I sent the form off to Skoda to advise change of ownership (about six weeks ago). When I had VW breakdown cover I received a membership card - I imagined Skoda would operate in the same way (also RAC behind it - unsurprisingly!). However, I haven't heard anything back from Skoda.

I didn't when I got my car from new

Just has a sticker in the top right corner of the window and you give them your registration number :)

They were very very quick when I called them out (Day 1 of ownership...)

I just rang them when I bought mine and they confirmed all was OK. They said no paperwork would be sent as its the car that is covered anyway.

In the event of a breakdown just ring the number and quote your reg no.

Is breakdown 3 years or just one ? Also would people suggest renewing with Skoda assist or going elsewhere. Mine is 1 year old in feb. lastly what is the current cost to renew with Skoda ?

Many thanks

Happy new year

Thanks for the replies.

I'd just renewed my existing breakdown cover a month before I bought the car (in November) - they don't offer pro rata refunds, so I've effectively now got two breakdown covers in force (although I haven't changed the vehicle over - my existing breakdown cover is still covering the MKI vRS). At least it was ony £38 for the year, and that's for every cover option including Europe.

Not the best of starts...

I do recall reading about your nightmare ownership experience on another thread.

Defiantly no need to call and register the car. When the car has stopped working just give them a call and give your reg and they will come out - It's what I have done.

Not quite the original question but do I need to keep the Skoda Assistance sticker which the dealer or factory have decided to stick on the top right of the windscreen, to still be covered (kind of reckon the answer is no). It looks completely naff to have this dodgey green and white sticker in a prime position.

I know it is useful to have the numbers in the car, just in case, but I can easily put them on a sticker somewhere more subtle.

Mine has nothing in the window, no need.

It is good to have the number in the car though.
