Interior Diffuser lights

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Hopefully this will be a quick in and out topic...my question comes at the end - bear with me.

I picked up my demo (2,400) miles) Superb Elegance Combi, 140PS DSG 4x4 with a few extras on 22 Dec from Mervyn Stewart in Northern Ireland. It was the MD's car. Excellent dealer service. Highly recommended.

Christmas being Christmas I've not been out that much, but first impressions are excellent (coming from a Merc C Class Estate). Great build quality, excellent comfort, although still looking for my driver position 'sweet spot' which doesn't have the steering wheel rim obscure the dials in any way.

Torque and pull excellent, compared to where I was coming from. DSG box very good indeed. Put the 4x4 to the test on very wet roads pushed into corners and the car as others have said felt 'planted' on the road. Slight body roll requires a developing leap of confidence on twisties to realise that the car can take the corners. That said its not my style of driving and the dog certainly wouldn't appreciate it now that he has room for a mate and a litter of puppies in the boot.

Love the whole adaptive light thing and turning into my drive at night and seeing it lit up isdis a delight  Also many posts on the ICE forum let me to expect a tinny sound from the Columbus system. In my case not so. I have an eclectic taste in music from Classical to Magic Slim and the sound at MP3 192kb transfer is very good indeed. Thanks to advice on the ICE forum this was easily accomplished too.

Now the question...I have what looks like 3 diffuse lights on the rear of the front interior light mount. I have two diffuse lighting spots on this cluster shining down unto the gearshift and providing ambient light as described on p63 of the manual. What are the three at the rear of the mount for and how are they activated please?

Thanks all

A

I think you are talking about the interior car alarm sensors. Those will detect movement inside the car.

Yes there are only 2 diffuser lights, which shine downwards.
