Aerials

Featured Replies

Hey guys tonight i had my aerial stolen, which to be honest i am hacked off about. most likely from low lifes who have nothing better to do! it wasnt even a a fancy aerial just plain factory fitted. but anyways sorry about that rant, i was just wondering where i can get a anti theft aerial which will still provide a good reception for my skoda fabia mk1, as dont want to have another one stolen. or if anyone has one they are looking to get rid of.

many thanks james

Absoloute idiots! What satisfaction do they get out of stealing an aerial!

fitted one of these to mums '91 polo coupe.

Worked well, even picking up the smaller stations clearly.

I had this a couple of times. Parked in same place so guessed same person. Covered (second replacement) whole thing in thick grease. Didn't happen again.

had mine cut off half way down a while back, couldn't believe it.just ended up getting a replacement off the dealership..

I'm not sure I'd fit an anti-theft one. Would hate to think what they'd do once they realise it won't come off, might cost more to sort than an aerial.

i was think of maybe buying that aerial that is internal that ferby posted to the car or even a shark fin that fits over the base unit of the aerial, are shark fins any good, is the signal reduced alot?

okay i have bought i shark fin of ebay, its one of the ones that fits over the original base, i have been told that these arn't that good, but the shark fin itself is rather tall so is room for me to put a long brass screw in to act as a boost on the reception. we will see how it goes.

Iv got a genuine mk5/6 gti aerial on mine and I get good signal 90% of the time. Although haven't heard the same tbh about the universal shark fins

The best aerial I've used in terms of reception and looks is a Honda S2000 one, but it's not anti-theft. Living in lower part of the valleys radio reception can be flaky.
