Leak

Featured Replies

My Mum bought a 11 yr old Skoda Felicia Pacific from a local garage in Plymouth (UK)she is having a problem with a leak. The drivers footwell is very wet and the water appears to be coming from the area directly above the pedals. Has anyone come across this and know how to solve this. The garage has tried to solve this leak once. If anyone can help please let me know so I can let the garage know.

I understand the windscreen seal is a common water entry point.

It's a very common problem!

There are two solutions, but the first is to seal the bottom corner of the windscreen seal with bathroom silicone sealant. Just apply a bead under the top half (the bit that joins the windscreen) of the rubber seal on it's entire length, making sure to get it under the seal so there are no visible 'gaps'. Make sure it's 'dry' (give it a wipe with a cloth) as the sealant won't work adhere properly.

I did this on the weekend and it worked, it's completely dry now.
