Any easy possibility to change the behavior of the central lock

Featured Replies

Hi,

I bought a New Skoda Fabia in 2011 and I wonder if there is an easy

operation that I can perform on it in order to change how the central works.

I mean right now it is a two time process : from the outside, only the driver door

then all the doors. It is annoying for me. I know that It can be fixed through

my dealer but I'm afraid to pay for such a minor change

Any clue ?

Does the car have maxidot? (full MFD display between rev counter and speedo)?

If it does then the procedure is described in the owners handbook on how to change settings.

If not then a dealer or someone with VCDS is the only option.

You'll have to take to dealers to change the settings, you should have been asked during the PDI check done by dealer, seems they are missing a lot of this stuff, time means money LOL emoticon-0103-cool.gif

I have the maxidot display and I'd also like to change this. Having to press the button twice is a right pain in the ...

I've had a quick look in the manual (downloaded from the Skoda website) but can't see any mention of changing the unlocking process.

EDIT: have just seen seboni121's reply above. Guess I'll ask at the next service.

Some of the members on here have a VCDS.

With the Superb it is under 'Comfort'

"Door open Here you can switch on or off the functions for opening a single door and automatic closing"

It does not HAVE to be a dealer at all

AS CAN ANYONE WITH A VCDS.

Can we stop shouting now? ;)

Welcome to the site mderie, as you see, people on here know loads and often there is more than one way of doing something. In my experience, if you have bought your car from a Skoda dealer, they are normally quite keen to help and often don't charge anything. We always did it for free (not a Skoda dealer). Go speak to the dealer nicely and you might just get a nice surprise. And congrats on buying a Skoda, you won't be disappointed!

Help folks, just been to dealer and I asked as this was first service regarding maxi dot, needle staging and alarm chirp they have said NO its not available as I do not have the controls on the steering wheels is this so?, can't understand I have the elegance spec car with maxi dot, is what they say true and it's not available on my particular maxi dot system ?

I called into my dealers who changed the central locking for me on my vrs, took about 30 seconds to do, no charge

maxidot is not as functional on the fabia as it is on the octy... you will need the computer to change it... I had it done at the first meet with the new car, the "security" locking annoyed the hell out of me too!

Ah, first world problems :giggle:

You may not have a MFSW but you should still have maxidot controls on the wiper stalk.

If they are unwilling / unable then get someone with VCDS to do it - they will also not charge you anything like YOUR dealer seems to be
