Broke one of my keys, been quoted £99.23 by main dealer for a new key and coding.

It's not even a remote key fob, just a bog standard key with a transponder from a 2001 fabia, rip off!

Does anyone know where I can get one done cheaper? I tried a Timpson near me but they couldn't do it because of the coding.

The dealer is by far (or at least should be) the easiest way ..... but it is also the dearest.

Someone like hickleys.com can supply you with a key and transponder quite cheaply, BUT then you will need the SKC (Secret Key Code) reading from the vehicle - unless this came with your car on a plastic tag.

Once you have the SKC then someone with VCDS can code the transponder to the car, more hassle yes but potentially MUCH cheaper.
