hi everyone,happy new year..query is does your engine management light show up upon turning on the ignition like the other warning lights?cos mine doesnt so wondering if mine is just normal,my car is a mk1 octavia 2001 elegance tdi..thanks to all the ideas

It will come on with the ignition, but should go off when the engine is running.
