Twin Door Boot Space

Featured Replies

Happy New Year Folks.

I'm looking for a Dog Crate/Cage that will match the unusual profile of the TwinDoor boot space - Has anyone sourced a reasonably priced light-weight item, ideally that folds flat, made of metal, and suitable for a Doberman shaped dog to be capable of sitting/lying in - but also looking through the rear window? I'd like to keep the rear seats up, and also have some space for light storage nearer the latch when on the road....It's not a lot to ask for - but try locating one! Everybody caters for the estate model...but not the Twindoor? (I'm not looking for a Dog Guard.....)

Cheers,

We've got a LinTran DB11 Box in our Estate. Our's has a 4" Extension on the top - and is a FAB fit for the estate.

I'm not familiar with the Hatch so cant comment if this would suit your needs.

We use it for a German Shepherd.

I have the Hatch and went for a dog crate with two sloping sides (which fit nicely against the angle of the rear seatback). I can't remember where I bought it (I can find out by checking my e-mails if you wish), however it is similar to this one (Link).

I am sure I bought small or medium for our cage (as we have a small dog, a Cavalier King Charles). It does sit about an inch too tall for the boot cover, so I have to leave the cover at home whenever we take the dog cage with us.

Other than that, I am very happy with how it fits, and the dog likes it too. :)

P.s. I meant to add that we did try a dog guard initially (with the thought of letting the dog roam free in the boot). But, the guard we bought was rubbish (didn't fit the sides of the gap effectively, and the dog snuck through every time). We also decided that the cage was better, both for the safety and happiness of the dog and for keeping the boot clean after muddy walks!
