Alarming thought

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me how i can lock the car without setting the alarm?I

You can't totally so I was told by the AA man and my local dealer (see thread elsewhere as mine has been going off all of it's own accord recently, although it's the bonnet switch at fault).

You can however supposedly disable the interior parametric alarm by locking the car twice within 2 seconds, but I've never seemed to have got this to work. This presumably is what causes the alarm to go off on a ferry.

What does just using the key do?

Arms the alarm the same as the fob.

Two quick presses on the fob should deactivated the interior sensors providing it is set up to do so.

Yes, I thought pressing the key fob once set the alarm and applied the deadlocks to the doors. Pressing it twice in quick succession disarmed the interior sensors (alarm still set on the doors), and removed the deadlocks (doors still locked).

How do you change it back afterwards so that the interior alarm is set for next time?

It's only active for that session, so if you were to unlock and then just hit lock once, everything would be back to normal, i.e. the internal sensors would monitor again.
