Is it OK to use in my 2003 Skoda Octavia VRS 1.8T that has 100K on the clock?

Tried reading other posts on the subject of oils but now getting totally confused.

I know you can use Castrol Edge but I was looking at this one as a cheaper alternative

Cant see why not, hell I use 0w40 Mobil 1 in mine and have done for years.

The GM oil will be fine. It meets the VW502.00 standard, so is good for standard drain intervals. Viscosity is in VW's range too.

Don't use it for longlife, or variable servicing though. Change it once a year or 10k ish. If you want to go for variable servicing, you need the proper VAG longlife III oil (Needs to meet spec 503.00, or 504.00). The one Lew_vRS posted on ebay will be perfect for this.

Yeah LEW_VRS Im sure your right I ran my MK1 vRS for over 90K on 5/30 504/507.00 longlife. GM and FORD 5/30 is no good.
