road noise

Featured Replies

got a vrs today, can i pick your brains? there seems to be quite a bit of road noise up front, previous owner said he had all new bushes etc up front, could it be caused by uprated bushes or something? or is it normal? the other thing is the air recirculating switch works fine, but does not light up,is there a bulb behind it,or an led? anyway cheers in advance, for any info.great site by the way.

youll get more road noise from cupra bushes as with any uprated bushes, they tend to be firmer and more direct so will create noise. the switch has an smd led soldered into it so will need removing and another led soldering into it.

What make of tyres are fitted?

Agree with both the above, if previous owner has uprated to cupra there will be a tad extra road noise and also you should check to see if the tyres are run flats.

When I first had my vRS what I thought was road nosie at first turned out to be a wheel bearing... what mileage your car on?

Cheack the wear on the rears, you may find 'saw toothing' where the tread blocks are worn at angles, like a saw balde.

sorry, forgot to ask,how do you remove the switch?

Hi shlobber,

Did you get any further with identifying the source of the wheel noise? I have what sounds to be a similar noise/problem to you.

I'll get a video up this weekend, see if anyone can identify it!
