Another New Year Problem

Yet another problem for the fabia in 2012.

Turned ignition this morning to start the car and the coolant light came on and stayed on.

Here we go again I thought.

So I plugged my OBD reader in just in case and it pulled up a code 17911.

Checked coolant, it was low so topped up with g12, light gone.

Lovely I thought, but checked fault code anyway and turned out to be alternator load signal, no signal.

Then realised I hadn't actually seen my battery light lit up on my dash for yonks!

Checked wire and the blue wire had snapped.

Fitted new wire, all sorted.

Litttle hint: If there's no battery light when ignition is turned on, it's a good chance that wire has snapped/broken considering it's such a common fault.

Check for coolant leak when possible the level has dropped for a reason bottom corner of radiator is a safe bet
