Griffin AutoPilot for iPhone & iPod with Columbus?

Featured Replies

Kind of a newbee on the RNS510/Columbus thing, but I have a 2008 RS with a factory fitted Columbus and Aux in the armrest. I have a pre-facelift, so I guess I don't have MDi. I want to play songs form my iphone on the Columbus, but it's not to important for me to controll the iphone on the unit. I allso want to be able to charge the phone in the car at the same time. And last; It would be very nice to be able to use Spotify in ofline modus aswell.

I found this product:

Anyone tested this or have a link or recomandation for something similar?

Thanks

Fit an MDI - purchase from eBay - you won't regret it. The sound quality is far superior via the dock connector and you can hide it away, nothing on show and the unit charges the ipod. Fitting is a doddle if you have some common sense (there is a guide on the foums). Some of the ebay ones have pre-wired multiway connectors which meakes the job even easier.

If you've gone to the expense fo a Columbus, why spoil things with a half-arsed solution?

Thank you for the advice.

I bought the car used, so the Columbus was factory fitted. I don't want to go trough the hazle of fitting the MDI at this stage, as the iphone music will be used a maximum of 4 to 5 times a year on longer drives. I have more than enough with the SD card on day to day basis. I just want a quick solution for the time being.
