Hi All, anybody know if a starter motor off a 2005 MK1 TDi Fabia VRS will fit a year 2000 Octavia TDi AHF 1.9 as my dads Ocy is acting up. cheers - Stuart

Probably not, as it'd attach to the ring-gear on the flywheel? The flywheel on the Octavia will be a different size as it's 5 speed rather than 6 speed (so 228mm I think, vs the 240mm setup on the Fabia). Might still work, but if the starter motor is set-up for turning a 240mm flywheel then it'd turn a 228mm one slightly faster.
