Styling Mods

Featured Replies

Hey guys what styling mods have you lot done? im looking for inspiration for my new (silver) octy vrs so pics would be awesome!

I think with the Mk1 Octy VRS less is better.

I would go for LCR front splitter, old style (black and silver) Pastyboy skoda badges and wheel caps, milotec plain black rear diffuser, aero front wipers, rear wiper blank off, s2000 aerial, and remove the mud flaps.

Just realised that sounds like a lot LOL

lol that is any car with all that on :p

Why do people remove the rear wiper?? (Probably a stupid question?) Is it purely for styling, or is ther any other practical reason?

I know mine lifts at over 170mph...but saying that I dont do that very often ;) and generally speaking I find it rather useful to keep the rear screen clean.

I'd think twice about removing the mud flaps too, otherwise you'll get all manner of shizer up the sides of your car.

As said though, LCR splitter looks great, as does the WRC cut out, especially if you have a FMIC.

Steve :)

Purely for styling, makes the rear end look a bit cleaner (and the standard rear wiper is a bit pathetic looking). If you apply some aquapel to the rear glass twice a year the rain just runs off.

Agreed about the mudflaps, I fitted some Skoda ones to mine, but it does make it look a bit less sleek.

I like the lcr i reccon its a 20 min job Please explain acronyms FMIC i dont know what that is :p and is the wrc cut outs like what rob (NZ estate vrs) has in his bumper?

LCR splitter

Mesh in the front grill and bumper prehaps....

Lol rick we are "soda buddys" so its happening haha

Btw guys i was thinking of fitting a boost gage as its been mapped just so i can diagnose faults as its useful for that

soooo do you guys think its a good idea and if so which one do i get and where is best to mount it and how easy is it to fit? and do i get bar or psi?

lol guys ure all very helpful

No no no....I have a boost gauge lol not allowed!!! It's good for boost leak finding but if you want to check for issues I'd get an air fuel ratio gauge. Too lean and you will melt things!

HAHA its gona be like having a twin car :p I want a FMIC aswell lol

Check out RobClubleys website, good guide on fitting a boost gauge on there. Personally I prefer a gauge in the DIN slot in the dash or in the drivers vent, they look a bit more o.e.m. than an A-pillar pod or one of those newsouth things that fits on top of the steering column.

If Race Diagnostics still sell them the liquid gauge is very good and fits in the drivers vent. It will read and clear fault codes and give you digital dials and graphs for boost, intake air temp, air/fuel ratio, coolant temp, oil temp, egt, g-force and a dyno plotter.

yh they look awesome but for £200 thats a bit steep mind you they do alot

De-chrome the grille surround and spray it black. Will make a nice difference to the front end.

Gauges are all about safety for me and not looks.

I'm keeping my chrome......black can look tacky on silver

It is a triple then as mine already has all that lot including FMIC, bumper cut out, grill meshed and WRC replica spolier and in silver. :giggle:

I prefer the A pillar for mounting boost gauge

I did a DIY one as the dash triple gauge is nice but can't fit it as I have a double dim head unit and don't like the steering pod one either.

lol triplet haha

That a blue flame exhaust? Looks exactly like mine.

I'm not a fan of bumper cut outs n mesh, love the standard looks of the Octavia so keeping it this way. Yours looks good tho and it's to your liking. Nice car!
