Jesus Babs, the whole Federal range must have tried to kill you at one point or another!!!!!!!

on a more serious note................I take it then that you wouldn't recommend them ?

have a look on tyre reviews, apparently they're extremely poor in the wet

I had a look, one guy didn't like them (understatement) the other few that posted seemed to think they where fairly good.

How much are Falkens? The ZE512 is usually a reputed budget tyre, at least not apparently dangerous like these appear to be.

Having said that - just checked on http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Federal/Formoza-FD2.htm and they seem OK??! Can't say I have ever tried them.

I'd rather have tyres I trusted, but hey, it's your life :D

For the cost, it's not a big jump to something reputable, like the above mentioned Falkens

I've been using Falken ZIEX912 and they are a great tyre, they have taken a bit of a jump in price though. I'd rather not stoop to the Federals but for the price, they seem by far the best of a bad bunch.

Got the Formozas on the car today (I'm still alive babs) will give my thoughts on them next week when I have a couple of thousand Kms on them.

Also got my 17" Pegasus powder coated, stripped bare and a 3 coat finish for 60 euro a wheel. Will post pics when the car is clean.

My son had Federal tyres on his Fabia I HTP when he bought it. They were newly fitted by the dealer as we insisted on new tyres as part of the deal; those fitted were 8 years old and perished.

Lasted less than two years and 16,000 miles. Not that they wore out far from it, however they all distorted leading to wheel imbalance. Replaced with Goodyear Vector 4Season all weather tyres which so far are proving excellent.

just an update on the Formoza's, I am still running this set and haven't rotated them. They are very quite but the real amazing thing is that I have put about 40,000kms on them since February and they are only not more then half worn !!

The grip in the dry and the wet is very good but they can get a bit slippy on a "damp" road.

I will definitely be running these again.

Oh yeah Babs, they haven't even looked at me funny never mind tried to kill me

And...? Your point being? :)

How much are Falkens? The ZE512 is usually a reputed budget tyre,

I tried these a couple of years back, if it was damp or wet I went on the Bus or Walked, it was safer

I did check to make sure the Bus didn't have them on aswell
