New Yeti this morning

Featured Replies

Hi all, long time lurker as I've endured the 6 month wait to get my new white 170 Elegance. coming from a Octavia VRS 170PD I am really pleased with the choice and I can't wait for the first snow to test the newly gained traction.

However, just one snag....looking in the boot I see an oblong shaped floor mat with Yeti written in white stitching and this looks a bit odd as I would have thought it would have a carpet floor attached to the underside of the back seats. As it is the mat is not big enough and I can see a bare white bottom of the car with all the carpet fitting holes and bolt stubs showing. It looks unfinished.

If I was to guess I'd say it looks like it may have been ready for a spare wheel option but mine doesn't and has the tyre goo and compressor.

I've put a call in to ask the dealer as this is a lease car though another company but does this sound right? Car was built in December if this determines anything.

Thanks in advance. :)

That doesn't sound right.

If you don't have the spare you should have a plastic moulding a couple of inches thick with a hollow for the pump and squirty stuff, (and a tow ball) all covered with a black carpet.

I certainly cant see any painted areas on mine.

Can you post a photo?

As Llanigraham said if you have the compressor you should have a moulded boot tray and a carpet over the top. I have a 3 week old greenline through volkswagen leasing theres definately a problem that needs rectifying.....

Hope you manage to sort it out..

Thanks, I was trying to link a photo from Flickr on my ipad last night but it wasn't playing ball :notme: I have the insert with the squirty stuff and compressor but have a look here and let me know what you think?

No, that's badly wrong, you should definitely have a boot tray. Go and complain.

Many thanks. Could someone confirm if this is what it should look like? I've sent this picture on but I want to be confident and not be fobbed off. I'm paying tax on the car so I want it to be right!

Yup, that's what mine looks like.

Except we no longer get the 'carpet' inserts on the wheel arches :(

Welcome to Briskoda.

You have been given the textile boot mat for a Yeti with spare wheel, which goes on top of the false floor.

Somewhere in one of my previous posts I have put up the part numbers that you should have for the standard boot with no spare. I will take a look some time when I'm free.

The components missing are the polystyrene filler that fills the impressions where the spare wheel should fit to level the floor, and then a hardboard, carpet topped "boot floor".

Hi,

as others have pointed out your missing the factory fitted carpet and to get round it someone has thrown in a accessories textile boot mat. There are two versions of this one for the standard boot and the other for the raised boot (false floor or spare wheel). Looking at your pic as rockhopper states I reckon you have the raised floor one.

My link

Just wonder if your car was originally shipped with the spare wheel arrangement and it's been robbed out to satisfy the requirements of another customer but all the trim has not been transferred across; not uncommon practice at dealerships :wonder:

Hope you get it sorted ,

TP

Thanks all you have suggested exactly as I was thinking. I didn't order a full spare and I suspect it came over with one. I will be interested as to what the dealer says.

I had a message from the dealer saying I had the wrong boot floor install so they will be in touch once they are ready to fit. Thanks for your help :)

Apart from that the first 250 miles have been great and although not as quick in gear as the VRS it would certainly have it off the line! B)
