Engine check light

Featured Replies

Hi all my Octavia 2.0l GLXI has the engine check light on and its running a bit lumpy and there is an eggy smell when the car is cold anyone got any ideas

Thanks D3onk

Got a code reader? What code is it throwing up?

The sulphur smell sounds like it might be the cat.

When I took it to the garage he put his code reader on it and no faults were found but Erving the engine a lot of black soot came out so don't know if anything is blocked

Sounds like the cat is failing if it smells of sulpher.

If the EML is on then there is definitely a fault code stored. Code readers don't recognise all of the VAG fault codes.
