During the various surfing round I have done a consistent theme is that 'buymobilephones.net' is coming up with what seem to be good deals. Has anyone dealt with them previously?

Carphone warehouse will match any deal around except cash back contracts as they rarely get paid out.

Yep, like I mentioned previously mine is from them.

Great to deal with, spoke to them a few times before I bought, phone delivered on time with everything that we'd agreed present and correct.

Definitely recommend them

One further question, are most of the smart phones able to act as a mobile wifi hub so I can hook up my laptop when out and about? I know the Iphone does it, but not buying one just for that, actually just not buying one of them full stop. There tempted fate mow!!

I use an app called EasyTether to connect my ageing Anrdoid Phone to my notebook. Works well enough and is free. I would think that a new phone with the latest Android OS would have no difficulty at all, tethering might even be built in.

no need for an app, from 2.2 onwards you just turn on the wi fi hotspot and set up the password and away you go

I'm lucky if my galaxy SII lasts a whole day! I blame angry birds!! lol

When I got my galaxy i was told that with my Blackberry i used under 100mb of data a month, luckly i told them to keep me on 500mb as i used 460mb this month with the galaxy!

If you have an xbox, get yourself a windows phone (lumia 800 or lumia 900) :)

A friend got given an 800 by Nokia at one of their developer conferences. It's a nice phone, but I find it . . . boring? It works beautifully - smooth, instant, no lag, but it's just not interesting to use. Everything is in a loooong list and I could see myself getting bored with it very quickly.

It reminds me a lot of the old 'dumb phones/iPhone' with a fixed menu system where you can't really change anything except the list of apps, compared to Android which you can manipulate visually a lot more. That said, it is better than the iPhone, in that everything pops up on the tiles, and it pulls email, facebook etc together very, very well.
