which Service kits?

Featured Replies

I have had MANN filters from either GFS or Eurocar Parts in the past and not had any issues...

Just get everything from the dealer, it doesn't cost as much as people think!

or TPS and save a few quid if theres one nearby. OR visit your local motorfactors and pump some money into the local economy :)

I use only MANN filters (for 8 years),are the most popular in Romania, and very good.

Recently I bought a Mahle polen carbon filter and it's quite poor, doesn't fit perfectly in the frame like the MANN,and tend to unglue from the margins.

get it from dealer - or pretty cheap from Sere Motors and delivered to your door!

What about oil and does anyone know how much oil it will take for the,oil change. 1.8t 150 ARX ENGINE.

I think that the genuine filters are MANN anyway. The replacement air filter I put in my Octy had all of the same numbers in the same font as the genuine one that I took out, just no VW logos.

RTFM

All the filters are pretty much the same tbh, I get mine from the local TMS motor spares as they are also in stock. It only costs me £6 for the oil filter (paper type on the diesel), havnt replaced the air yet as its still very clean (only owned the car for 7 months).

MANN are one of vag's suppliers so OEM quality

Just get oil from the dealers, least you know its the right stuff and its cheaper than halfords

Very true, a guy at work bought some long life oil from Halfords and I am pretty sure that he paid about half as much for 1 litre as I did for 5 from TPS.

Last year it cost me under £30 for oil, filter and sump plug from the dealers.

Same for me yesterday! £26 all in. But I do get freebies. :giggle:

As for the amount of oil, its just over 4 litres. So get a 5 litre bottle and top it up accordingly. It's all in the owners manual.
