312mm brake fitting issue

Featured Replies

Had the Fab booked in at the garage to fit the 312mm brakes and the mechanic is saying the original hoses are not long enough to fit on to the new callipers.

He also said the connection is different on the callipers, the original connection is like a roll pin? and the new connection is flat?

Can anyone shed any light? What can I do next? Do I need to buy a hose kit, if so what one?

The callipers I bought were the red ones here - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280771826235

Anyhelp much appreciated!

Whe I put 312's on mine I left the old hose on there as the hose was just about long enough and I have read plenty of other people doing the same.

Can't help with your other issue though mate, you get the right setup?? (I've not looked to be honest as in work and they block eBay!!)

I also used the standard hoses when I fitted mine.

I can't remember any more details though as it was four or five years ago.

Just spoke to the mechanic, he was having a senior moment... He was putting the callipers on the wrong sides! He said that it now fits.... :giggle:

Just another question about securing the hose in the new calliper as it's a different fitting. He said it's a beached slot rather than roll pin???? Is that still secure and safe?

Regards

Yes standard flexi's are fine mate I fitted mine a couple of months ago with no issues.
