6N Hubs on a felicia?

Featured Replies

Hi thare ive bought a felicia pickup and have a polo 6n lien in the yard with coilovers on it.

I know thw hubs, struts etc are differnt but im wondering if i can swap the polo hubs onto the skoda, ie is the balljoint the same and is the t.r.e mounting the same? any help or advise greatly appriceated

Teflon Tom is doing the exact same thing I believe so maybe check on his 1.8T thread.

personally I think it would mess up all sorts of steering angles if not done very carefully.

the rears MAY fit ok but I think are shorter.

I would send Tom a pm to check maybe.

Hi if you want to use the polo uprights you have no choice but to also use the polo ball joints too because they attach to the base of the uprights in a different way.. To do this you need to modify the track control arms to accept the polo ball joint too, it does mess with the steering angles as jimbo says above and also the tie rods need to be lengthened by 65mm to suit because the tie rod attaches in a different place on the polo ones.. To fit the polo dampers or coilovers to the felicia top mounts you need to modify a few of the parts and spacers etc.

However what it does give you is far greater opportunities for brake and suspension upgrades but if it's just coilovers you are after then just stick some mk1 focus one in there.

ahh i see thanks guys. the other thing i thought was modifing the frnt 6n coilovers to slide into the skoda hub if diameter was suitable. mk1 focus you say hmmm intreaging lol.

thanks again.

Yes mk1 focus or mk4/5.escort (same thing) fit on the front but you need to do a bit of jiggery pokery with the top spring plate to make them fit because the thread on the top of the damper is a teeny bit too short, nothing that a decent machine shop with access to a lathe can't sort out though.. Mk3 golf coilovers fit on the back on the hatchback and estate models as a direct no fuss fit but the options are quite limited on the back end of a pickup but mk4 golf rear lowering springs are a good choice, it's what I have on mine anyhow.
