Genuine reason for sale – changing jobs and reducing commuting mileage.

I bought this car brand new from Rainworth Skoda. Travelling 100 miles a day, I wanted something safe, comfortable and economical, as well as being a bit special. Nothing came close to the Octavia in terms of spec & value. The equivalent Golf was about 6k more expensive!

This car has been truly cherished. I have cleaned it regularly and thoroughly using safe cleaning techniques (snow foam, washmitts & two bucket method) to keep the paintwork in pristine condition. The leather interior is regularly cleaned & treated.

As a result the car is in excellent condition. The leather is like new, the steering wheel shows no sign of wear and hasn’t gone shiney. I even keep the key on its own as I don’t with getting scuffed by other keys! There is an unopened set of carpet mats (Ltd Edition exclusives) that came with the car but I never fitted (didn’t want to get them dirty!), instead I bought & fitted a set of genuine rubber mats from new.

It’s on the long life (variable) service regime and has been serviced at 18,609 and 37,177 miles (as indicated by the on board computer) which is pretty much bang on the 30,000 km maximum stated in the service manual. Allams Skoda in Epsom has carried out both services. There is about 4,000 miles until the next service which believe is just a standard inspection and should cost no more than £150.

About 90% of my driving is on the motorway, where I cruise at a sensible 65mph. As a result, I have been able to hit the maximum service intervals and averaged over 50mpg since I’ve had the car (every fill up tracked on an iPhone app – see pic). This also means that the car isn’t covered in loads of stonechips!

I have the stamped service book, service invoices, original order and invoice from Rainworth as well as all keys, wallet & books. Obviously, the V5 is in my name and address.

It still has the remainder of the manufacturers warranty and breakdown cover, as this will run out in May 2012. The car does not need an MOT until this date.

A bit of background on the model: it’s a pre-facelift run-out model. It has many items from the facelift model including Bolero colour touch-screen radio, updated dials, steering wheel, climate controls, door mirrors with integrated indicator (everything except the updated front/rear panels & lights).
