Anyone have any experience of seeing or know of any problems fitting a touch screen head unit in the space where the standard cd player and cubby hole is on a fabia. i know the screen was an optional extra on all the new models but wondering whether a screen would fit straight into the gap. Wiring i know will be an issue but im fine with that side of it, just cant find any examples of anyone doing this or trying it before. My mate had a cooper S with the centre head unit - originally the speedo, being turned into a screen with sat nav and the whole shubang. i'd be looking for sat nav and such but touch screen isn't a necessity.

Want to steer away from getting a head unit fro, halfords that just folds out as well.

This can be done pretty easily. You need a facia adaptor IIRC. Thats pretty much it, wiring is standard with no cutting etc required, agasin just an adaptor I think.
