re -occurring management fault

Featured Replies

i have 2004 fabia 1.9 diesel sdi. The mil light comes on at random ,sometimes a few minutes after being cleared or it can be a few days. The same 5 code appear every time;they are

17660 injection start valve [p1252]

17946 fuel cut off valve [p1538]

18027 glow control unit [p1619]

17849 valve for egr [p1441]

19557 motor intake manifold flap [p3101]

has anyone had similar experience? The car still drives ,but only in limp mode.I would be so grateful for any suggestions.

It's almost certainly a faulty DI power (terminal 87) relay. It's the relay in position 15 of the relay plate under the dash above the pedals.

It's bad knews if it's not the relay.

It could be a wiring fault between the relay and the ECU, a bad earth fault in the engine bay or a failing connector. Unfortunately, the most likely cause is a faulty ECU.

My advice would be to take it to an auto electrician who specialises in VAG cars.

Check the wiring loom hasn't got water ingress on the n/s/f inner wing (Usually swells up and corrodes the wiring)

You will need to remove the air box to get a good look at it carefully strip back the insulation

If that's the case and you have full skoda service history take it to a main dealer you may get the £700 wiring loom under goodwill (which will have to be made by skoda to order) you may have to pay for labour.
