Ambient Temperature Display Wrong

Featured Replies

Oktavia 2.0 Elegance Petrol 00/01

Popping my cherry with this one, be gentle with me please.

Our car reads incorrectly both on the climate control & mfd under clocks. Always a minus figure and always since we bought it in August (yes I know it's cold now! ;-) )

The figure on both displays is the same.

Two questions, is this easily remedied and does this somehow affect fuel consumption as this appears poor.

TIA

The ambient temperature sensor shouldn't affect fuel consumption because the fuelling is based on the coolant temperature sensor readings which is in the cooling system.

If I remember rightly the ambient temp sensor is located in the bumper attached to one of the bolts that holds the bumper on behind the passenger side (smaller) bumper vent where the horn is. Shouldn't be too hard to replace although I can't remember whether it has a multiplug or if you'd need to cut the wires and solder a new one on.
